Faith Formation - April 2015

Happy Easter to all!

Faith Formation Updates

Programs are going strong in our three parishes on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday evening and Sunday morning.  Please join us for our remaining sessions in April and May.  Check the schedule updates here.

Do please help us plan for next year with this quick 5 minute survey.  Thank you!

Run for the Young

Help us hold onto our title as holder of Both Shoes!

Fr Steve wants to reclaim them for his new parish - but I think we can keep them.  We get one one shoe for having the most people involved in the 5K/1mile Fun Run and the other for raising the most money.  You can sign up yourself or sponsor one of the youth who are going to NCYC or another parish runner.  All proceeds help youth attend diocesan and national events.  Our parishes keep half of all funds raised for our own youth and the other half goes to the diocesan scholarship funds (which we can apply for).

Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry Survey - Please answer this survey to help the work of the Youth Ministry Planning team.

Confirmation/Teen Time

We have combined for many of our sessions for whole group activities and then divided into small groups for discussion and faith sharing.  Please join us most Sundays after Mass as we rotate through the three churches.  Youth in grades 8 and up are welcome to Teen Time.

Break for Life 2015

Student-oriented, pro-life conference, Saturday, April 18, at McQuaid Jesuit High School, 1 – 4 PM (Registration and pizza at 12:30).  It is an education and advocacy gathering.  Presentation topics will include A Teen’s Perspective on Being Pro Life; Modern Day Slavery; Euthanasia/Assisted Suicide; Poverty as a Life Issue; A Hospital Chaplain’s Perspective on Life and Death; Pro Life 101 for Middle School Students; Women’s Equality Act; Being a Pro Life Feminist  It will close with 4 PM Mass with Bishop Matano.  Questions:  Mr. Chris Hood (585) 256-6169 or e-mail

We applaud the youth who so generously gave of their time to assist with the services of Holy Week as servers, readers, ushers and singers.  Your presence enhanced our celebrations.  Thank you.

We have a great group of prilgrims: 10+ teens, 1 young adult and 5 adults.  There is still room for you!  Contact Colleen Trevisani or Sherry Clifford ASAP or see more info here.

We had a very successful "Stock Sale" and raised over $1600.  If you still wish to contribute - look for upcoming fundraisers - more info here on the left sidebar!

Story and Song Tour

A great group of 3 Catholic Musicians is coming to town.  There is a concert that has an opening choir you can be part of and a workshop for adult volunteers, parents, catechists, musicians, and parish staff.  Sign up for the Choir here.  You can buy tickets in person from Colleen Trevisani at Faith Formation or Mass the next few weeks (and avoid the service fee) - or online here.  We are also looking for businesses who would like to purchase program ads - we are selling up to 1000 tickets for the concert that will atteach youth and adults.

Summer of Service and Spirituality

It is not too soon to think about some of our service opportunties.  Here you will find a list of upcoming events for Middle School and High School youth to take part in.

There are summer programs for youth and families.  Check out Summer Opportunties

We are also looking for a few parents and youth to attend an upcoming conference on social ministry to help us plan our service ideas for the summer and fall.

World Meeting of Families-Philadelphia 2015

Join us for a once in a lifetime event at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia on September 22-27, 2015. The theme is “Love Is Our Mission: The Family Fully Alive.” Families from around the world will come together for prayer, speakers, celebrations, and activities for all ages. All are welcome!
