Lifelong Faith Formation - August 2015
Summer Program Edition
Dear Families,
So excited to have you with us this Summer. There are just a few updates for you to be mindful of.
All Welcome on Sunday
Spread the word and bring a friend, grandma, Uncle Fred, your BFF from high school.... We will have a light breakfast, and lunch as well as sessions for adults in morning and afternoon. See more details here.
Check-in - check-out
This year we have a very exciting large group of over 60 youth, from each of the Cluster parishes - St Columba, St Mary, St Vincent as well as youth from St Agnes, St Rose and St Paul cluster.
Because of this it will be essential that all youth check in with my assistant Colleen Van Dyne who will be handling attendance. She will be under the big tent. We will be asking for a phone number each day – the best way to reach you – we have many numbers on your contact forms, but would like one easily accessible.
She or I will handle check out as well from Church following closing prayer each day.
If your child/youth has permission to walk/ride bike home, please sign the permission form we will have available the first day – or send your own signed note from home.
If your youth will be picked up early or by someone else, please let us know in writing as well.
Thank you for your understanding as we do all we can to help keep our youth safe.
Clothing/footwear/supplies
Please be mindful of safety, comfort and modesty in dress.
Safety - Students will have game times and so safe footwear for running is necessary – sneakers, tied or strapped shoes, sports sandals, etc would be a safe choice.
Comfort – It is summer and it may be hot or raining. Dress for the weather, knowing that all classes will have indoor learning space and under tent space for lunch. If desired: Wear a brimmed hat, use sunscreen.
Modesty – We will be having Mass and prayer in church everyday. T-shirt and shorts are acceptable for all youth. Please just be sure that what needs to be covered is covered!
Meals/Snacks/Drinks
Your child may want to bring a reusable water bottle labeled with their name. Snacks and lunch provided due to the generosity of the parishioners. Hot lunch provded daily – Mac&Cheese, Hot Dogs, Pizza, and Ziti with milk, juice and water to drink.
